I've actually been meaning to post an actual update for about a week now, but then real life actually did get in the way. A lot of my time has been taken up by this production, but I now have a couple of days off which is nice. I ended up going to see the New Years Eve fireworks with pebblegosling, wolfielove, a_new_divide and a couple of other friends, which was great fun. Very exciting, as I had never brought in the new year in the city before. So many people! Can totally understand why we've never been now, Mum hates crowds.
... Then I fronted up to work on New Years Day, that was fun... /sarcasm.
So quiet and boring. Ah well, $$$
The rest of my time has been spent organising my cd collection (took me forever, I discovered I actually own about 105 cds!), and I stayed at snuggle_monster's place last night. Purportedly to watch movies - but we just ended up talking for hours and hours and didn't watch a single one. Fangirling over Darren Criss was there too, of course, as well as laughing hysterically over youtube videos.
Oh, this is one random thing I found so amusing. Firstly, this song is awesome and cool in it's normal version.
Then, this version starts playing - I start cracking up so much. Because it's *him* singing still. It's not a cover. LOL. Seriously Ben Folds, why are you so awesome?!
Then, I get to snuggle_monster's place yesterday and we're listening to it and laughing at it. Although, she told me later on that she was not only laughing at the song itself (and the literal translations of the lyrics which are apparently much politer than the English phrasing) but she was laughing at the fact that I knew immediately that it was Japanese. Is it really that hard to pick that out?! ... Apparently for most people it is. Pebblegosling, I blame you entirely for this ability of mine ;)
And now - onto the meme! Which I have been neglecting, mainly because this part of it is difficult for me. I am the sort of person who traces each event in my life to who I am now. Anything that I would change, would change who I am now dramatically, and honestly, I like where I am in life right now.

Put up walls with certain people I used to be really close to.
Stayed at my old school for as long as I did. (but that would have changed everything, so this is a surface comment)
Stressed about going on that chamber music trip. It's not that important, really.
There are a lot of things I say that I wish I could take back instantly.
Let my parents get video footage of the 'plays' that we used to put on over the summer.
... yep that's all I got. I don't dwell on this stuff, not any more.

And that's it for today! I have a fair few plans for February, but almost none for the next few weeks - which is a nice change of pace. I won't get any extra shifts at work, January is dead, so I think I'll sit at home, watch movies, catch up with harpisan (hopefully!) organise my music to go onto the ipod I just bought off snuggle_monster, fixing up my lj tags (going to take me a while...), go shopping because I can, and the like.

Heh. I have about 16gb of music, and have just gotten a bigger ipod than my 8gb nano so I don't have to pick and choose any more XD

Oh school was just a pants time in general. I performed amazingly but was in a bad school is all.
16GB? My 120GB will eat yours. I'll have to try and work out how to post a list of all the music I have so I can share any things people would like.

Short short short version: went to a school where I had friends until year 5, then suddenly no one wanted to talk to me/have anything to do with me except to bully me. I stuck it out until year 10 and finally snapped and moved schools in year 10, to a school where I met all of the school-friends I mention :) Best decision I ever made.
