'It’s not always rainbows and butterflies it's compromise that moves us along'

I am happy to report that I am feeling much much better after a couple of decent night’s sleep (damn it Dad, why must you be right?! XD) Between yesterday’s study session (which was fun, after all yay!) and my productivity today I am not feeling quite so worn down.
True, I still have a lot left to do – but I’ve finished all my homework tasks for the week, and so can focus on all these pesky assignments. I also managed to get in about 2 hours of really good practice in so I am really happy with myself atm.

Have a list of my workload for the next few weeks:

- English essay: Due on the 18th, we only got the questions last night. Thankfully one jumped out at me – essentially a question I can use my rant in the tute last week for. I got overexcited, as snuggle_monster can attest to. You know you’re a nerd when you get excited over an essay question. Not ashamed.

- Indonesian speech: working with Ame, we’re doing it on women’s roles in the media (particularly journalism) and structuring it like a news/current affairs program. So it’ll be fun, but we’ll need to practice a fair bit to get it smooth and flowing well. Bu Y seems to be emphasising that as one of the criteria.

- Indonesian ‘literature review’: Major 1500 word piece of written assessment for Indo, I’m looking at sexualisation in advertising – first step is to find some decent resources to review. So far it’s been more difficult than I thought it would be.

- Two assignments on Alexander Technique: we haven’t had the lectures yet, so I’m just planning on doing the required reading and trying to go from there.

Work was strange tonight, I’ve had about 3 students quit (of which I’m pretty sure one is just changing teachers because his mother didn’t like me, ah well) so there were already going to be a few gaps. Then two other students are sick and couldn’t come, so I actually got a lot of the aforementioned homework done at work. Only downside to this is that the pay for tonight will be crap. *shrug* I can’t bring myself to care too much right at this moment.

In other news, this week is slowly but surely filling up.

I found out today that [livejournal.com profile] pebblegosling  finally got her visa, and so is jetting off on Wednesday – I’m so glad I am able to see her off at the airport. Otherwise I’m not sure my brain would accept that she’s going.

I am going to miss you so much, I hope you know.

It’s probably fitting that the last time we hung out properly in Aus we saw a truly terrible movie, and just chatted for a couple of hours. Oh and she started spinning a table because she could, and a cup and saucer flew off it and shattered into tiny pieces. Shortly followed by a girl saying ‘and that’s why we don’t spin the tables’ at which we got the giggles, she apologised for us hearing her and mentioning that it was aimed at her (male) friend who had been doing the same thing – and then looked sheepish. So funny. She took the words out of my mouth, that pretty much sums us up.

On Wednesday night I’m going to the Jezabels concert with [livejournal.com profile] snuggle_monster  (who has become my gig buddy heh) – which I am looking forward to immensely. it might be a welcome distraction from my ohmygodshe’sgoneoverseas moments that are sure to happen
And now I am going to spend the rest of my night just relaxing, as I think I’ve earned it.

PS I wanted to post this last night, but lj was down... on the night I had given myself off. Of course.
