'On my way'
This song makes me thing of a fair few different things. Firstly, a certain awesome movie ... about a sloth and a mammoth. Look, my taste in movies is great! XD
Secondly, I think of the very funny imitation that Newton Faulkner has done (watch here)
And today, 'Send me on my way' seems rather apt. Walking around the uni today, and seeing the signs pointing all those auditioning in the right direction, reminded me just how fast this year has seemingly disappeared - and how far I've come since this point last year. In my violin playing, new friendships (including with people who I have 'known' for ages) and the like. It certainly hasn't been an easy year in some regards, but most of it has been pretty fun. I'm seriously going to miss the group of people in our course - whatever happens we're unlikely to all be in the same place ... especially since a certain merger of courses, many of the people who had moved here to study are all going home/elsewhere next year. *shakes fist at a certain university*
On a vaguely related note, I find it a little funny how annoyed I get at a certain person (who shall remain nameless) on behalf of a friend. I guess I just hate to see my friends being hurt - which in itself isn't a bad thing. But it did lead so plans of 'getting back' ... not that we'll ever actually do anything of the sort. *cough* unicycle *cough* Ahh schadenfreude, how we love thee.
I went to see 'Cosi fan Tutte' today, not in it's traditional form though. A 'modern' version, sung in English. It was highly amusing - the costumes were so clever, and the singers were amazing. I especially loved the guy who played 'Don Alphonso' ie the mastermind behind all the trickery. He was hilarious. (especially 'blinged out' at the start XD)
Then, headed home with
harpisan to eat nachos and watch the end of 'The Emperor's New Groove'. I was very proud, she quoted it on the way home before we'd watched it again. XD It's usually the one I get blank looks when I quote it...
So all in all, a good day. I really need to get back into the practice now though =P
One last thing, to show how perverted my mind is becoming - I found this MLIA post hilarious.
Today, I decided to test the Google vs. Yahoo war. I typed in "Glitter is." Yahoo gave me, "All that glitters is not gold." Google said, "Glitter is the herpes of craft supplies." The winner is obvious. MLIA
