'On my way'

This song makes me thing of a fair few different things. Firstly, a certain awesome movie ... about a sloth and a mammoth. Look, my taste in movies is great! XD
Secondly, I think of the very funny imitation that Newton Faulkner has done (watch here)
And today, 'Send me on my way' seems rather apt. Walking around the uni today, and seeing the signs pointing all those auditioning in the right direction, reminded me just how fast this year has seemingly disappeared - and how far I've come since this point last year. In my violin playing, new friendships (including with people who I have 'known' for ages) and the like. It certainly hasn't been an easy year in some regards, but most of it has been pretty fun. I'm seriously going to miss the group of people in our course - whatever happens we're unlikely to all be in the same place ... especially since a certain merger of courses, many of the people who had moved here to study are all going home/elsewhere next year. *shakes fist at a certain university*
On a vaguely related note, I find it a little funny how annoyed I get at a certain person (who shall remain nameless) on behalf of a friend. I guess I just hate to see my friends being hurt - which in itself isn't a bad thing. But it did lead so plans of 'getting back' ... not that we'll ever actually do anything of the sort. *cough* unicycle *cough* Ahh schadenfreude, how we love thee.
I went to see 'Cosi fan Tutte' today, not in it's traditional form though. A 'modern' version, sung in English. It was highly amusing - the costumes were so clever, and the singers were amazing. I especially loved the guy who played 'Don Alphonso' ie the mastermind behind all the trickery. He was hilarious. (especially 'blinged out' at the start XD)
Then, headed home with
harpisan to eat nachos and watch the end of 'The Emperor's New Groove'. I was very proud, she quoted it on the way home before we'd watched it again. XD It's usually the one I get blank looks when I quote it...
So all in all, a good day. I really need to get back into the practice now though =P
One last thing, to show how perverted my mind is becoming - I found this MLIA post hilarious.
Today, I decided to test the Google vs. Yahoo war. I typed in "Glitter is." Yahoo gave me, "All that glitters is not gold." Google said, "Glitter is the herpes of craft supplies." The winner is obvious. MLIA
I credit you,

Date: 2009-11-17 09:24 am (UTC)Perverted mind=definitely a good thing. eheheh.
First year is nearly over...It makes me over think things about how time goes fast, which is much more scary than it should be. But enough on that.

Date: 2009-11-17 09:32 am (UTC)Hehehe. It's fun ;)
Yeah. I was also talking to C the other day about how I'll most likely end up in the same year of a course as ppl from the year below us at school

Date: 2009-11-18 12:26 am (UTC)But this one made me laugh. Especially since *I* get angry at a certain someone on a certain someone's behalf too...*kick*
I was listening to Breathe In this morning and freaked out remembering that we learned it in MARCH. Ugh.
I want nachos again for dinner. *Thinks* Actually, the pancake option wouldn't be so bad, were it not for the company I'll be required to keep in order to obtain said pancakes. Got any conversation starters that could save me from a presumably awkward meal? Any at all???

That fact makes me feel slightly better.
DON'T TELL ME THAT!!!
"So, what are your plans for next year?"
Seriously, kept us talking the whole way home from your party...

Date: 2009-11-18 03:02 am (UTC)Likely scenario:
A: So, how's this weather, hey?
C: Yeah, can't say I'm enjoying the sun all that much lately. I have to wear so much sunscreen.
A: You hate everything.
(Just for the record, it wouldn't be the first time person A has asked for person C's opinion and then responded with that...not by a long shot :P)
*Mutters to self*
Remember the pancakes. You're doing it for the pancakes.

Date: 2009-11-18 03:29 am (UTC)I can imagine that - with ease. So I believe you :P
Pancakes = YUM
On second thoughts, you could have just invited me (and then we could've just gone off on our own little tangents)... he wouldn't complain to my face, and then you won't have to see him after that XD

*Hopes said person never finds out I have lj*
*Has second thought of this actually being a good thing*
*Amuses self with said thought*
