I have been trying to work up the energy to write this post for nearly two whole days now. It was meant to be a New Years Eve thing but what with phone calls and sleeping in and the show I got a bit behind schedule. Then I went out, got home at 2am, and had to work at 9am this morning. My room still has clothes all over it and that has been on my to-do list for a few days now. But I digress. I thought I'd reflect a little on my year and write it down for once, I'm always interested in how things change. This still counts, because it's not the end of New Years Day yet. Right? =D

So here we go.

2010 was the year:

My year was eventful, apparently )

Wishing you all a happy year to come.

'Kings don't need advice from little hornbills for a start'
*hums*
Love that song and movie so so so much. Twas also amazing watching it with someone who had only recently found out that Zazu was voiced by Rowan Atkinson. Tehehe.

Just a little *cough* about my week and weekend )

Good evening my friends! I have returned to Australia after my holiday. I enjoyed it greatly, but I am happy to be home. I want to continue in Indonesian, but my vocabulary isn’t good enough without my dictionary.

Just a little *cough* about my trip... )

I'm finally here! And it is awesome. Completely. I don't even know where to start.
Just because I'm pushed for time, due to the fact that this connection is costing me money, I can't really go into a lot of detail - but I'll just give a few impressions of my first few days (it feels like longer, this heat tends to do that)

1) Balinese people are lovely. Especially the ones at our hotel - they always have a smile for us, and their English is so good. It doesn't leave much room for us to practice though ... we'll have to try harder
2) There are very limited road rules and very crazy drivers, I would not like to drive here...
3) We are very odd 19-year-olds. Possibly the youngest foreigners in Ubud, as most of the younger ones are in Kuta partying it up. Not my idea of fun. Having said that, we're both enjoying the freedom of being away from our cars and thus being able to try all a few different alcoholic drinks.
4) We've had a pretty great run with food, both local and Western - let's hope this can keep up

To be honest, i'm too tired to keep going with this so if there's anything you want to know specifically - comment or facebook me and ask!

Well here I am. It's the 30th of December 2009 and I am sitting here with my pack full, going over my list a thousand times, and looking forward to tomorrow. But at the same time, I don't believe it. I have no idea where this year went - it seems like it was only recently that N and I were saying to each other "we could go" ...
I tell everyone I'm excited (which is true) but I'm also nervous as hell. My first big trip without anyone older and wiser so it's scary, but it will be awesome.

These past two days have been so great, but I'm too tired to go into all of that now.
On that note, I bid all you Melbournites farewell for a month - and when I come back we shall hang out and watch a million movies and the like. Because we can.

PS I will try to post here as much as I can, no guarantees though. xx
