Today was awesome.
First up, Indo class. Fine, not much happening. Then I had a really really good lesson, going through different ways of practicing my scales - discovering that my studies are hard but I like them, and just generally getting a better idea of what I'm doing.
Then, pebblegosling came over for a last chill session before she heads overseas for an entire year. Most of which was spent watching Glee, chatting about really random stuff, and both of us being on and off the phone XD
Then we headed off (mum randomly came up and said she should join us, naww) for my 'little' brother's 18th birthday. So. Much. Food. I'm still overfull... It was good to see the family again, even though I didn't really talk to most of them. Next time.
But now, GLEE
Oh man. This episode was amazing. So so so good. Here's why:
Burt Hummel is the best dad ever. That speech? Absolutely spot on and heartfelt and he was clearly out of his comfort zone but he did it anyway. And Blaine letting him know his concerns in the first place? You can see how much he cares about Kurt.
The one-liners were so epic.
- 'That's why you use the curling iron in the bath so you don't burn yourself' 'No.'
- 'I have as much sexual appeal and knowledge as a baby penguin'
- 'It's like hugging, only wetter' ... 'yeah it is'
I could go on. XD
One of my favourite scenes was the one where Sue crashes the coffee shop. The comparison between Blaine and Kurt's respective facial expressions and reactions was utterly hilarious.
Not to mention the version of Animal literally had pebblegosling and I rolling on the floor laughing. We had to rewatch it a couple of times just because we kept missing bits.
Of course, though, the main highlight was the way they handled the Santana/Brittany storyline. It was beautifully done. Wow, Santana is actually a human being with emotions and everything. Landslide was honestly one of the most moving number's I've seen Glee do. Plus the voices featured worked so well together - wouldn't have picked it.
(side note: Artie and Sam are morons.)
For my part, I am glad that Brittany didn't just dump Artie. If she does love him as she claims, it wouldn't be fair.
My favourite line of that whole sequence was "who knew that being fluid could mean you're so stuck?"
Heartwrenching.
I think that's enough now.
Rdm
Look this and don't laugh. Try. XD
