I have had an awesome awesome awesome week.
I'm not even sure where to start talking about it, to be honest.

The reason I went was basically to follow the play snuggle_monster was in, called 'Here Comes the Son'  - it had been written by a friend of hers from uni, who is incredibly talented and kind of insane (as all the best artists are), and entered into the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Which is apparently the biggest fringe festival outside of Edinburgh. So that's pretty cool in itself.
The play is about a roadtrip from Melbourne to Perth in a magical car. Add in some truly wacky characters, songs, some hilarious improv (my favourite of which involved the main character throwing a hissy fit and kicking over chairs in the venue) and the show was hysterical. There was the obligatory drama that happens when you have 7 people who don't normally hang out 24/7 live together for a week but as I told them you really wouldn't know it by watching the show. Apparently the night after the one I went to was even better.

I am now an honourary cast member/groupie/stalker and they all started asking me for advice/opinions on how the show was coming together - I'd seen it twice at the previews back at home. Amused me, but it made me realised that me joining their theatre company at uni is a great fit - even if only for background stuff. I felt right at home and it was amazing.

I stayed with my great-aunt and uncle (my mum's dad's younger brother) which was lovely as I hadn't seen them in a  long time. At least 5 years. My grandpa and his brothers are so alike it's hilarious. Both in looks and mannerisms. It was cracking me up (not that I spent much time with him, he's a doctor and was working - so he'd be gone before I woke up and in bed when I got home each day). My aunt loved having company, I think. She was so incredibly sweet. I arrived thinking that I'd be sleeping at their place and that's it, and that I'd be left to organise myself. Which was totally fine - it was my intention after all. Instead, when I arrived my aunt drove me around for a tour of the city to show me where the buses went, and then ended up dropping me into the city almost every day. I even ended up running errands with her one morning, which was fun because she just kept chattering away. My uncle is away a lot, and most of her family lives in Melbourne so it does make sense that she'd love to have me stay. Oh and at the very end of the trip we went out for dinner to a lovely little beachside suburb, and I tried to shout them as thanks for letting me stay and instead they somehow ended up paying for me too. I felt ridiculously spoilt. <3

Oh and here are a couple of pictures of the gorgeous sunset we watched after dinner. Such a great way to finish up a great trip.
It's times like that when I love that my phone has a pretty good camera.

Yesterday I did my teaching shift on about 4 hours of sleep (I found it really hard to wind down after my flight) and then bummed around at home until it was time for the work party. That was fun, even though I was fighting sleep the entire time. a_new_divide and another colleague just are an old married couple. That was hilarious.

Today is just me organising myself for uni, it feels like I have a million and one things on my to-do list (that I haven't written down yet, too scary). On that note I shall leave you.

PS. sine_animo and I are awesome. We had a quote-war until 2am on Thursday night because I couldn't sleep/had a lot of stuff on my mind and it lasted something ridiculous like 60 messages. Thank goodness for unlimited texting, that's all I can say. =D I'm an insta-friend person, but our friendship has broken records even for me. I wouldn't change it at all.

You're a great friend for being there for your friend like that! How long was the flight?

Your great aunt sounds nice. :) Seems like they'd put you up ehenver you need. *nod*

Oh my, those pictures! Gorgeous!

It was just under an hour. And was pretty cheap too, why I decided to just do it. :D

Indeed! Whenever they're not away themselves, of course. Which is a lot.

It is. It'll stop once I move out of home, but I'm enjoying it while I can afford it!
