Dear Bach,
I know you’re a musical legend and all, but I really wish you had thought just a little about us mere mortal musicians when you were writing your works for solo violin. They are beautiful, no doubt about that, and I am not questioning your purpose or structure – but I must say, my hands don’t quite like some of the stretches and such involved.
As for you Kreutzer, the only word I can think of to describe most of your Etudes is ‘sadistic’. I am in pain, and it’s your fault.
Sorry to be such an ungrateful violinist,
Lauren
As you can probably tell, I actually did some practice today. As you may also guess, it did not go so well. I do love my pieces BUT I have been playing them for two years now. I need new music. On top of this, anything to do with orchestra is causing too much stress. So I’m going to try to ignore it for the moment.
So, what else have I been up to lately? Making cornflake cookies, watching silly movies (‘The Sweetest Thing’ & ‘Happily N’Ever After’), drinking tea, eating a ridiculous amount of food I don’t know why I’m so hungry, ironing, laptop researching, organising my wardrobe (again) and trying to work out exactly how I’m going to fit everything into my week this semester. Plus trying to shake this odd bleh feeling I’ve had for the past week. It’s not good.
When I put it like that, it’s amazing that I’m not more exhausted than I am.
I revisited asofterworld the other afternoon, and this one made my chuckle wryly. I’ll post a link, as the mouseover text adds to my amusement.

I’ll leave you here with this. Because I can.
Comment and I'll give you a letter, then you have to list ten people/places/things you love that begin with that letter, afterwards post it on your journal and fill out letters of your own.
Pebblegosling gave me the letter L. Hmm I wonder why... =]
Lake Toba
Well, usually I call it Danau Toba - but to make it fit, I'll use the English translation =D Such a beautiful place. My only wish is that I wasn't so unwell while I was there. Damn malaria tablets...
Live performances
I’m a musician. I like listening to people performing, whether it be classical or otherwise. I just wish I could afford to do it more often.
Lazing around
La Vie Boheme
Only one of the most awesome songs I know. XD
Laughing
It’s fairly easy to make me laugh too – just ask pebblegosling.
Lasagne
One word: YUM
Leonard
Ok ok fine, it’s not him per se that I love =P, just Big Bang Theory in general =DAlthough him stoned is fricking hilarious!
Lindt chocolate
Love songs
I’m a sap. I know.
That was harder than I thought – and am struggling to think of a 10th so I’ll leave it there!
Til next post, hopefully sooner than a week
Rdm

Date: 2010-02-23 08:23 am (UTC)Just be glad you aren't a cellist with small hands. I've heard some such slobs complaining loudly about my less well known Cello suites.
Regards,
Bach.
PS: Legend? I prefer genius, but whatever.
Glad you've been busy- and good luck with the bleh- I feel you on that one.
Uni will be good- as will be your orchestra stuff. Fear not.
That meme- Nice answers!!

Which is what confuses me the most about my reaction after I went home...
More on msn perhaps. Ask if you like.
